Under Articles 32 and 226 of the Constitution of India, the Supreme Court and every High Court of India has the power throughout the territory in relation to which it exercises jurisdiction to issue to any person or authority directions, orders or writs including writs in the nature of habeas corpus, mandamus, prohibition or quo warranto and certiorari or any of them for the enforcement of fundamental rights conferred by Part III of the Constitution.

भारत के संविधान के अनुच्छेद 32 और 226 के अधीन भारत के उच्चतम न्यायालय और उच्च न्यायालयों को संविधान के भाग 3 द्वारा प्रदत्त मूल अधिकारों के प्रवर्तन के लिए अपनी अधिकारिता वाले पूरे राज्य क्षेत्र में किसी व्यक्ति या प्राधिकारी को कोई निदेश, आदेश या बंदी प्रत्यक्षीकरण, परमादेश, प्रतिषेध या अधिकार-पृच्छा और उत्प्रेक्षण जैसी रिटें या इनमें से कोई भी जारी करने की शक्ति है।
