غير أن الأوساط المسؤولة عن التخلُّص من الذخائر المتفجرة تفضل التخلُّص من الذخائر عبر الطريقة التقليدية لتدمير الذخائر التي تتضمن تدمير كل الذخيرة أو جزء منها ويجري ذلك عادة باستخدام شحنة متفجرة لإبطال مفعول الذخيرة أو تدميرها.
