On the basis of Art. 10:52 of the Burgerlijk Wetboek (BW; Civil Code) there applies for the Netherlands the Hague Convention on the Law Applicable to Matrimonial Property Regimes 1978 (HC), which entered into effect as of 1 September 1992 and applies to marriages solemnised after 1 September 1992.

Siviililain (Burgerlijk Wetboek) 10 osan 52 pykälän nojalla Alankomaissa sovelletaan aviovarallisuusjärjestelmään sovellettavasta laista vuonna 1978 tehtyä Haagin yleissopimusta, joka tuli voimaan 1 päivänä syyskuuta 1992 ja jota sovelletaan 1 päivän syyskuuta 1992 jälkeen solmittuihin avioliittoihin.
