Provenuet af afgifterne, der var indfoert for at fremme dels forskningen, dels moderniseringen og saneringen af erhvervsstrukturerne, blev overdraget et organ, der var oprettet ved dekret nr . 84-388 ( JORF 1984, s.*1650 ), kendt under betegnelsen DEFI, som skulle fordele det som stoette til virksomheder, til faelles fremmende foranstaltninger og til tekniske institutter inden for de paagaeldende industrigrene ( tekstil, beklaedning og trikotage ).

The revenue from those charges - which were introduced to foster research, on the one hand, and the modernization and renewal of industrial and commercial structures, on the other - was allocated to a body set up by Decree No 84-388 ( Journal officiel de la République française 1984, p.*1650 ) known as the comité de développement et de promotion du textile et de l' habillement ( CDPTH-DEFI ) ( Committee for the development and promotion of the textile and clothing industry, hereinafter referred to as "the Committee "), for distribution among undertakings, joint promotion activities and technical centres of the industries concerned ( the textile, clothing and knitwear industries ).

Las cantidades recaudadas mediante las exacciones -que habían sido establecidas para promover, por una parte, la investigación y, por otra, la modernización y la renovación de las estructuras industriales y comerciales- fueron destinadas a un organismo creado por el Decreto no 84-388 (JORF 1984, p. 1650), denominado DEFI, para que lo repartiese entre las empresas, las actividades colectivas de promoción y los centros técnicos de las industrias interesadas (textil, confección y sombrerería).
