Since I became aware that there is no justification whatever for giving tacit support to the widespread myths which only a predatory society is unable to question - for instance, the idea that being Spanish implies condoning atrocities such as bullfighting - I have realized that pain, cruelty and injustice continue to exist only because we are not sufficiently affected or interested to identify and eradicate them.

Cuando comprendemos que no existe ninguna justificación para asumir los mitos que solo una sociedad depredadora es incapaz de cuestionar - por ejemplo, que por el mero hecho de ser español se deban tolerar o apoyar las sangrientas corridas de toros -, nos hacemos conscientes de que el dolor, la crueldad y la injusticia solo existen porque no nos interesan o afectan lo suficiente para identificar y erradicar su existencia.
