ويرد هذا الرأي في تعريف الإيكولوجيا الذي يورده معجم أكسفورد للبيئة والمحافظة على الطبيعة الذي يُعرف الإيكولوجيا بأنها علم اقتصاد الحيوانات والنباتات، هذا الفرع من البيولوجيا الذي يتناول علاقات الكائنات الحية بالمناطق المحيطة بها وموائلها وأساليب حياتها.
