El programa del noveno Festival Musical de Santo Domingo se compone de un total de seis noches, cinco de la cuales, todas en el mes de marzo, las tendrá a cargo la Orquesta del Festival, una agrupación sinfónica integrada por los mejores instrumentistas clásicos de la República Dominicana y músicos invitados de la afamada Orquesta del Concertgebouw de Amsterdam — una de las tres mejores orquestas del mundo —, la Orquesta de Cámara de Viena, la Real de Dinamarca, la de la Radio Española y de los Estados Unidos.
