Since 1997, there have been the bankruptcies of such major distributors as Cargo Imports and Distribution in Montreal, Song Entertainment Distribution, and Quality Special Products, all based in Toronto; the closure of Denon Canada's distribution arm in Toronto; and the merging of Distribution Trans-Canada, with Select Distribution and GAM Distribution in Montreal.
