The award is given each year to several promising graphic designers (JAGDA members who are age 39 or younger on October 31 of that year) who are expected to produce great future accomplishments. The award winners are selected from among the entrants to the annual member collection of works Graphic Design in Japan. The award has recognized a large number of talented individuals who went on to be active in the design industry, and receives much attention from persons involved with design and advertising.
