The processing was conducted on the Schmidt net, yielding a total of 14 focal mechanisms that were associated with regional faults, with results that suggest two (2) main trends of stress regime: A region between 8°N and 7°N is under a NW-SE compressional stress, while in the south of the study area, between 4°N y 6°N, we mostly observe focal mechanisms that correspond to a strike slip regime.

Mediante procesamiento sobre la red Schmidt se obtuvieron 14 mecanismos focales que fueron asignados a fallas regionales, con resultados que muestran dos (2) tendencias principales del régimen de esfuerzo que generó los eventos. Una primera zona entre los 8°N y 7°N bajo un esfuerzo compresional NW-SE, mientras que en la zona sur del área estudiada, entre los 4°N y 6°N, se observan en su mayoría mecanismos focales que corresponden a un régimen transformante.
