The recent reintroduction of bean cultivation in the flood plains of Saldaña, under the PRODER rural development programme with the support of LEGUMINOR, and the new varieties selected and improved by the Agricultural Research Agency of the Junta de Castile-Leon, are the only two positive examples of legume crop development in Palencia.

La reciente recuperación del cultivo de la alubia en la Vega de Saldaña, a través del programa de desarrollo rural PRODER y de la empresa LEGUMINOR, así como de las nuevas variedades seleccionadas y mejoradas por el Servicio de Investigación Agraria de la Junta de Castilla y León, es el único ejemplo satisfactorio de evolución positiva del cultivo de las legumbres en Palencia.
