Al hierdie ekonomiese en maatskaplike programme vorm deel van ons strategie om die armoede waaronder baie van ons mense ly, te verminder en uit te wis. Die werk wat in die loop van verlede jaar gedoen is deurdat vroue via die Suid-Afrikaanse Vroue in Dialoog met verskeie regeringsdepartemente saamgewerk het, en wat ́n besoek ingesluit het aan lande soos Tunisië en Chile, waar groot vordering met die bekamping van armoede gemaak is, wys sekere tekortkominge in hierdie verband in ons stelsel uit. All these economic and social programmes form part of our strategies to reduce and eradicate the poverty that continues to afflict many of our people. The work done during the course of last year, by women through the South African Women in Dialogue working with various government departments, including a visit to countries such as Tunisia and Chile where great progress has been made in dealing with poverty, does point to some defects in our systems in this regard.
