Die Bischofssynode, durch die aus den verschiedenen Gebieten des Erdkreises ausgewählte Bischöfe dem obersten Hirten der Kirche stärkere Hilfe und Mitarbeit leisten, wird so errichtet, dass sie sei: a) eine zentrale kirchliche Einrichtung; b) eine Vertretung des ganzen katholischen Episkopates; c) ihrem Wesen nach ständig; d) der Struktur nach zeitlich befristet in der Erfüllung der jeweils gestellten Aufgaben.

The Synod of Bishops, whereby bishops chosen from various parts of the world are to offer more effective assistance to the supreme Shepherd, is to be constituted in such a way that it is: a) a central ecclesiastical institution; b) representing the whole Catholic episcopate; c) of its nature perpetual; d) as for structure, carrying out its function for a time and when called upon.

El Sínodo de los Obispos, por medio del cual los Obispos elegidos de las diversas partes del mundo prestan una ayuda más eficaz al Pastor Supremo de la Iglesia, se constituye de tal forma que sea: a) un instituto eclesiástico central; b) que represente a todo el episcopado católico; c) perpetuo por su naturaleza, y d) en cuanto a la estructura, desempeñe su función en tiempo determinado y según la ocasión.
