An den Schluß der Weisheitsbetrachtung von Psalm 49 können wir also die Worte Jesu setzen, der uns den wahren Schatz zeigt, der dem Tod standhält: »Sammelt euch nicht Schätze hier auf der Erde, wo Motte und Wurm sie zerstören und wo Diebe einbrechen und sie stehlen, sondern sammelt euch Schätze im Himmel, wo weder Motte noch Wurm sie zerstören und keine Diebe einbrechen und sie stehlen.

And then, at the conclusion of the sapiential meditation on Psalm 49[48], we will be able to apply the words of Jesus which describe to us the true treasure that challenges death: "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust consume and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal.

Así, podríamos poner, como conclusión de la meditación sapiencial del salmo 48, las palabras de Jesús, que nos describe el auténtico tesoro que desafía a la muerte: "No amontonéis tesoros en la tierra, donde hay polilla y herrumbre que corroen, y ladrones que socavan y roban. Amontonad más bien tesoros en el cielo, donde no hay polilla ni herrumbre que corroan, ni ladrones que socaven y roben.
