Orchestr vznikl na semináři o vývoji jazzu, když si vyučující (shodou okolností já) chtěl ulehčit přípravu na zmiňovaný předmět a po rekognoskaci, kdo jaký nástroj ovládá, navrhl frekventantům „že bychom si mohli něco zahrát“, aniž by tušil, co si na sebe plete a že poté stráví drtivou většinu svého podzimního, zimního, potažmo jarního času u počítače aranžováním, upravováním a proklínáním onoho osudného nápadu.

The orchestra was formed at a seminar on the evolution of jazz when the teacher (who by coincidence happened to be me) wanted to lighten the preparations for the subject in question and, after making inquiries into who played what instrument, suggested to the participants that “we could play something together” without realising what he was letting himself in for and that afterwards he would then spend the vast majority of his autumn, winter and spring at his computer arranging, adjusting and cursing this fatal idea.
