وقد أدى هذا البيان إلى المظاهرات التي سمعتم بخروجها، في أبيدجان وفي بعض المدن في داخل البلاد حيث أن الفريق العامل باتخاذه هذا الموقف تجاوز، كما فعل في 8 تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر 2005، المهمة المنوطة به فيما يتعلق بأداء مؤسساتنا الوطنية لوظائفها.

This communiqué led to the well-publicized protests in Abidjan and a number of towns in the interior of the country since, by adopting this position, the International Working Group, as it had done on 8 November 2005, exceeded its mandate with respect to the functioning of our national institutions.

Este comunicado fue el causante de las consabidas manifestaciones en Abidján y ciertas ciudades del interior del país, ya que con la adopción de semejante posición el GIT se extralimitaba en su misión, al igual que el 8 de noviembre de 2005, en relación con el funcionamiento de las instituciones del país.
