Primary hyperparathyroidism was investigated using the presence of basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) from the immunohistochemical viewpoint with an anti-bFGF antibody in hyperplastic parathyroid glands of patients with multiple endocrine neoplasia type I (MEN-I) and of patients with non-MEN. The results corresponded well with the data from the DNA analysis.

El hiperparatiroidismo primario fue investigado desde el punto de vista inmunohistoquímico mediante la determinación de la presencia del factor básico de crecimiento fibroblástico (bFGF) utilizando un anticuerpo anti-bFGF, en las glándulas paratiroides hiperplásicas de pacientes con neoplasia endocrina múltiple tipo I (NEM-I) y de pacientes sin NEM, observándose que los resultados se correlacionan bien con el análisis de DNA.
