After having unanimously won the First Prize and the Audience prize at the ‘Concours International de Musique de Genève’, Lorin Maazel invited her to join his newly founded Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini as its solo flautist, in which capacity she later joined the Konzerthausorchester Berlin. Silvia Careddu is a member and artistic partner of the Kammerakademie Potsdam.
