Since the wind-pollinated C. pratericola often occurs in the same habitat with C. subglabrum, hybridization may be possible, although it has not been observed (Bassett and Crompton 1982).

Le C. pratericola, anémophile, côtoie souvent le C. subglabrum, et on peut penser que le croisement entre les deux espèces est possible, mais aucun hydride n’a encore été observé (Bassett et Crompton, 1982).
