However, considering that on rare occasions in the past this type of virus has crossed the barrier between species to infect humans, the Secretary of Public Health and Social Assistance will be receiving technical cooperation from PAHO experts in surveillance and containment of both seasonal and pandemic influenza, with the goal of strengthening national capacities for detecting and responding to influenza outbreaks.

Sin embargo, considerando que en raras ocasiones en el pasado este tipo de virus ha atravesado la barrera entre especies para infectar al ser humano, la Secretaria de Salud Pública recibirá la cooperación técnica de expertos en vigilancia y contención de influenza estacional y pandémica de la OPS para fortalecer la capacidad nacional de detección y respuesta frente a brotes de influenza.
