In addition, at the fourth session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, held in Abu Dhabi from 28 September to 2 October 2009, three programmes, projects or activities were recognized as relevant to the purpose of raising public awareness of the importance of the intangible cultural heritage and the need to safeguard that heritage.
