وعلى الرغم من أن المشروع ذاته يموّل من ميزانية منفصلة (تقوم اللجنة المعنية بالمفقودين في قبرص بجمع الأموال لها ويديرها برنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي)، إلا أن لمستوى النشاط المرتبط به تأثير مباشر على الاحتياجات المالية لمكتب العضو الثالث باللجنة.
