Zu oft und allenthalben geschieht es, daß für die religiöse und profane Ausbildung nicht gleichermaßen Sorge getragen wird, und während die wissenschaftliche Ausbildung auf dem Höhepunkt ist, reichen die Kenntnisse in der Religion über den Elementarunterricht gemeinhin nicht hinaus.

In many places the amount of energy devoted to the study of secular subjects is all too often out of pro portion to that devoted to the study of religion. Scientific training reaches a very high level, whereas religious training generally does not advance beyond the elementary stage.
