Point of departure for the talk is Zepke’s recent monograph “Sublime Art – Towards an Aesthetics of the Future” (Edinburgh UP, 2017), in which he evaluates the importance of sublime in contemporary continental philosophy (Deleuze, Derrida, Lyotard and Rancière) and how the concept has affected contemporary art’s ways of expression.
