The others were occupied by Fragoso and his family, and the other was used by my mother as a pantry, above this last place was a loft where the pigeons brought (from) Alburquerque were put, but by some carelessness of a servant the window was left open and the birds would never nest but did in the holes of the back walls about the belfry, in the lofts above the large rooms, but they did (not) last there long and disappeared completely out of the place.

Las demás estaban ocupadas por Fragoso y su familia, y la otra por mi madre que la tenía como despensa; sobre ésta última había una buhardilla donde estaban las palomas que compramos en Alburquerque, pero algún sirviente descuidado dejó la ventana abierta y los pájaros nunca anidaron allí sino en los muros traseros alrededor del campanario y en las buhardillas sobre las grandes habitaciones, pero no duraron allí mucho y desaparecieron completamente del lugar.
