Ο Conrad Bursian αποδίδει τον πρώτο στο Μένανδρο, τον οποίο χρονολογεί στον 4ο αι. μ.Χ., και το δεύτερο σε ανώνυμο ρήτορα της Αλεξάνδρειας Τρωάδος, ο οποίος πιθανολογείται ότι έζησε στην εποχή του Διοκλητιανού.
