وفي الوقت ذاته، أحاط السكان الممثل علماً بأنه بالرغم من عدم تمكنهم من استغلال أراضيهم، فإنهم مضطرون إلى دفع ضرائب عن أرض لا يستطيعون زراعتها، وهو متطلب يبدو مجحفاً في حد ذاته وينبغي أن تخففه الحكومة إلى أن يحين الوقت الذي تتم فيه إزالة الألغام ويصبح فيه الوصول الآمن إلى الأرض ممكناً.

At the same time, residents informed the Representative that despite the lack of access to their land, they are compelled to pay taxes on land which they cannot cultivate ‐ a requirement which appears inherently unjust and should be relaxed by the Government until such time that demining occurs and enables safe access to the land.

Al mismo tiempo, los habitantes del lugar informaron al Representante de que, a pesar de no poder acceder a sus tierras, tenían que pagar impuestos por unos terrenos que no podían cultivar, exigencia que parece totalmente injusta y que el Gobierno no debería aplicar hasta que se desmine el lugar y se pueda entrar en esas tierras con seguridad.

Or, les habitants ont informé le Représentant que malgré l'impossibilité d'accéder à leurs champs, ils étaient tenus de payer des impôts sur des terres qu'ils ne pouvaient pas cultiver; cette obligation paraît éminemment injuste et doit être assouplie par le Gouvernement jusqu'à ce que l'on procède au déminage et que l'on puisse accéder aux champs en toute sécurité.

В то же время жители сообщили Представителю, что, несмотря на отсутствие доступа к их землям, они вынуждены платить налоги на землю, которую они не могут обрабатывать ‐ требование, которое представляется явно несправедливым и которое должно быть отменено правительством до тех пор, пока их участки не будут разминированы и они не получат безопасного доступа к своих землям.
