وفي 16 كانون الثاني/يناير 1833، حين وصل خبر الأحداث التي وقعت في جزر مالفيناس لأول مرة إلى بوينس آيرس، طالبت حكومة الأرجنتين بتوضيحات من القائم بأعمال بريطانيا، الذي لم يكن على علم بما بدر عن بلده من تصرفات.

Indeed, on 16 January 1833, when the first news of the events in the Malvinas Islands reached Buenos Aires, the Argentine Government demanded explanations from the British Chargé d’Affaires, who was unaware of his country’s actions.
