وتم بالاشتراك مع أمانة اتفاقية مكافحة التصحر إصدار منشور بعنوان "الصناعات الاستخراجية في المناطق القاحلة وشبه القاحلة: التخطيط والإدارة" وهو يقدم تفاصيل عن المشاكل المرتبطة بالصناعات الاستخراجية في الأراضي القاحلة وشبه القاحلة، كما يقدم مقترحات فيما يتعلق بالكيفية التي يمكن بها إدارة هذه الأنشطة من أجل تعزيز صون النظم الإيكولوجية التي يتم تنفيذ هذه الأنشطة في إطارها.

A joint publication has been issued with the UNCCD secretariat entitled Extractive Industries in Arid and Semi-Arid Zones: Planning and Management which gives details of the problems associated with extractive industries in arid and semi-arid lands and suggestions as to how these activities could be managed in order to promote the maintenance of the ecosystems where they are taking place.

La UICN ha editado, en colaboración con la secretaría de la CLD, una publicación conjunta titulada "Extractive Industries in Arid and Semi-Arid Zones: Planning and Management" (Industrias de extracción en zonas áridas y semiáridas: planificación y gestión), en la que se describen los problemas relacionados con las industrias de extracción en las zonas áridas y semiáridas y se hacen recomendaciones a las industrias sobre métodos de trabajo para salvaguardar los ecosistemas.
