The image display device or the image signal output device according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a receiving unit for receiving an image; an input unit for receiving a user input to select a display mode or an image signal output mode; a determination unit for determining the selected display mode; a depth map generation unit for generating a depth map for the received image having depth information corresponding to a predefined curvature if the result of determination indicates that the selected display mode is a 3D curved image mode; a 3D image frame generation unit for generating a left-eye image frame and a right-eye image frame from the received image on the basis of the generated depth map; and an output unit for outputting the generated left-eye image and right-eye image frames.

본 발명의 일 실시 예에 따른 영상 디스플레이 장치 또는 영상신호 출력 장치는, 영상을 수신하는 수신부와, 디스플레이 모드 또는 영상 신호 출력 모드를 선택하기 위한 사용자 입력을 수신하는 입력부와, 상기 선택된 디스플레이 모드를 판단하는 판단부와, 상기 판단 결과, 상기 선택된 디스플레이 모드가 3D 곡면 영상 모드(curved image mode)이면, 기 설정된 곡률에 대응되는 뎁스 정보를 갖는 상기 수신된 영상 에 대한 뎁스맵(depth map)을 생성하는 뎁스맵 생성부와, 상기 생성된 뎁스맵에 기초하여 상기 수신된 영상으로부터 좌안 영상 프레임 및 우안 영상 프레임을 생성하는 3D 영상 프레임 생성부와, 상기 생성된 좌안 영상 프레임 및 우안 영상 프레임을 출력하는 출력부를 포함한다.
