Um Zähne und Zahnfleisch mit einem Behandlungsmittel zu versorgen, das beispielsweise auch zur Auflösung und Entfernung lipophiler Bakterien geeignet ist, und eine entsprechende Vorrichtung bereitzustellen, die neben der Zuführung entsprechender Pflege- und Behandlungsmittel auch eine noch schonendere Behandlung und Massage des Zahnfleischs ohne jede Gefahr der Beschädigung des Saumepithels ermöglicht, wird erfindungsgemäß vorgeschlagen, dass das Behandlungselement (2) eine dreidimensionale, rotationssymmetrische Behandlungsoberfläche aufweist, die zumindest teilweise aus einem offenporigen Schaumstoff besteht, wobei das Behandlungselement (3) um die Rotationsachse (8) derart frei drehbar gelagert ist, dass es mit seiner rotationssymmetrischen Oberfläche im Mund des Patienten auf dessen Zähnen und/oder Zahnfleisch abrollbar ist.
