Die immunaktivierende Wirkung kommt einerseits durch Blockade der hemmenden Wirkung des sympathischen Nervensystems auf das Immunsystem zustande und andererseits durch Blockade von Stresszentren im zentralen Nervensystem, insbesondere des Nucleus paraventricularis des Hypothalamus.
