In the Hadith of the two weighty things, Muhammad said: "Verily, I am leaving with you two precious things, the Book of God and my progeny, my ahl al-bayt; for as long as you cling to these two, you will never go astray; and truly they will not be parted from each other until they join me at al-Kawthar".

Ne kete takim raportohet nga Sahih Muslim, Tabarri, Tirmidhi etj duke thene: " Une po ju le pas dy gjera me vlere (thaqalayn) ne mesin tuaj: Librin e Allahut dhe gjakun tim (`itrah), Ehlibejtin Tim (Ahl al-Bayt), pasi me te vertete, te dy nuk do te ndahen deri sa te vijne prap tek une ne oazin (e al-Kawthar ne diten e gjykimit)."
