وكانت تشعر بالكرب وهي تروي كيف أصاب الجوع طفلها الرضيع البالغ من العمر عشرة أشهر والذي كانت تحمله بين ذراعيها، ولم يكن لديها ما تطعمه إياه، وكيف حاولت أن تطعمه مضغا من الخبز، وهو الغذاء الوحيد الذي توافر لها.

She was distressed when recounting how her 10-month-old baby, whom she was carrying in her arms, was hungry but she did not have anything to give him to eat, and how she tried to feed him by chewing on a piece of bread, the only food available, and giving it to him.
