The volcanic rocks underwent three types of pre-Kenoran metamorphism, namely, a pervasive alteration, a thermal contact metamorphism that affected narrow aureoles around synvolcanic plutons, and a high-intensity hydrothermal alteration that affected cross-cutting pipes in central volcanic complexes.

Les roches volcaniques ont subi trois types de métamorphisme pré-kénoréen, soit une altération régionale, un métamorphisme de contact affectant les auréoles thermiques autour des plutons synvolcaniques et une altération hydrothermale intense en forme de cheminée recoupant les cœurs des complexes centro-volcaniques.
