본 발명은 영상 암호화/복호화 시스템 및 방법에 관한 것으로, 동영상을 송수신하는 전송기 및 수신기가 동영상의 암호화 및 복호화를 위한 씨드(Seed)를 공유하고, 전송기가 동영상을 세그먼트 단위로 나누어 각 세그먼트 내의 영상의 시간적인 순서를 씨드에 의해 생성된 무작위 수에 따라 섞어 암호화하여 전송하고, 수신기가 수신된 동영상을 세그먼트 단위로 분류한 후 씨드에 의해 생성된 무작위 수에 따라 각 세그먼트 내의 영상의 시간적인 순서를 복원하여 복호화 할 수 있도록 한다. 본 발명에 의하면, 암호화 된 동영상에 대해 해상도를 키우거나 프레임을 변경하는 경우에도 트랜스코딩을 수행한 후 암호화 기능이 유효하게 작동될 수 있으며, 또한 압축된 동영상에 대한 암호화를 수행하는 경우 트랜스코딩 수행 전/후에 암호화/복호화를 해야 하는 문제점을 해결할 수 있다.
