Auf der Tischdecke ist die folgende Aufschrift (übersetzt): „Wie die Arbeit, so der Lohn!“ Auf dem Kopfpolster steht: „Herr Tilly, wie kann es sein, dass Sie so ruhig sind?“ Es folgt ein umfangreiches deutsches Gedicht, in dem Tilly über sein Schicksal klagt, das eine Strafe für das Verbrechen in Magdeburg ist.
