وعليه فإن أي مشتق بيرفلوروهبتيلي مستقيم أو متفرع السلسلة بالصيغة (C7F15-X)، بخلاف حامض البنتاديكافلوروكتانويك وأملاحه، وأي مشتق بيرفلوروكتيلي مستقيم أو متفرع السلسلة بالصيغة (C8F17-X)، يعتبر مادة مرتبطة بحامض البنتاديكافلوروكتانويك ويدخل في نطاق هذا الاقتراح.
