The intellectuals, writers, social activists of Siliguri are continuously and sharply observing the developments of Darjeeling hills political scenario. This democratic section holds the stand that the Government of West Bengal should move ahead politically to solve the old issue of identity issue rather than applying stern administrative models and acting in stubborn aggressive mood. The arrest of political workers as well as common people has crossed 650 till date. The peaceful scenario of the hills has been sabotaged by the unnecessary deployment of additional police force, SSB and CRPF in nooks and corners of the hills. A fear psychosis has swept away the normalcy of the hill’s public life.
