First of all, I wish to extend my most sincere thanks and appreciation to the Congress Honorary Committee, presided by Her Majesty the Queen of Spain Doña Sofía, and integrated by the President of the Spanish Government, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, the Vice-President, María Teresa Fernández de la Vega Sanz and a great majority of the Ministers of the Spanish Government; the President of the Courts of Justice, María Emilia Casas Baamonde; the President of the Autonomous Community of Madrid, Esperanza Aguirre Gil de Biedma; the Major of Madrid, Alberto Ruiz-Gallardón Jiménez, and other prominent members of the Spanish Government and international politics.

Deseo en primer lugar expresar mi agradecimiento al Comité de Honor del Congreso, presidido por Su Majestad la Reina Doña Sofía, e integrado por el Presidente del Gobierno español, Don José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, la vicepresidenta Doña María Teresa Fernández de la Vega y de ministras y ministros; la Presidenta del Tribunal Constitucional, Doña María Emilia Casas; la Presidenta de la Comunidad de Madrid, Doña Esperanza Aguirre; el Alcalde del Ayuntamiento de Madrid, Don Alberto Ruiz Gallardón, y otras muchas personalidades que forman parte del mismo, entre las que se encuentran los responsables de distintos ámbitos de gobierno vinculados a la cuestión de género y al mundo educativo, en particular el universitario.
