لقيت توصية الأمين العام الداعية إلى وضع إطار عمل متكامل لتطوير التكنولوجيا الأحيائية صدى لدى الملتقى العالمي للتكنولوجيا الأحيائية الذي نظمته منظمة الأمم المتحدة للتنمية الصناعية (اليونيدو) وحكومة شيلـي، في كونسبسيون في آذار/مارس 2004، بمساعدة المركز الدولي للهندسة الوراثيـة والتكنولوجيا الأحيائية، بهدف كفالة تسخير التكنولوجيا الأحيائية بشكل كامل لتحقيق الأهداف الإنمائية للألفية.

The recommendation of the Secretary-General for an integrated framework for biotechnology development was echoed at the Global Biotechnology Forum convened by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), in collaboration with the Government of Chile in Concepción in March 2004, with assistance from the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, with a view to ensuring that biotechnology is being fully harnessed in the pursuit of the Millennium Development Goals.

La recomendación del Secretario General sobre un marco integrado para el desarrollo de la biotecnología fue recogida por el Foro mundial sobre biotecnología, celebrado en Concepción en marzo de 2004, y organizado por la Junta de Desarrollo Industrial (ONUDI) en colaboración con el Gobierno de Chile, con la asistencia del Centro Internacional de Ingeniería Genética y Biotecnología con miras a asegurar el aprovechamiento pleno de la biotecnología para el logro de los objetivos de desarrollo del Milenio.

La recommandation du Secrétaire général concernant l’établissement d’un cadre intégré pour le développement des biotechnologies a été reprise par le Forum mondial sur les biotechnologies, tenu à Concepción (Chili) en mars 2004, sous les auspices de l’Organisation des Nations Unies pour le développement industriel (ONUDI) et du Gouvernement chilien, avec l’aide du Centre international pour le génie génétique et la biotechnologie, dans le but d’assurer l’exploitation des biotechnologies aux fins des objectifs du Millénaire pour le développement.

Рекомендация Генерального секретаря о разработке комплексной рамочной программы развития биотехнологии нашла отклик на Глобальном форуме по биотехнологии, созванном Организацией Объединенных Наций по промышленному развитию (ЮНИДО) в сотрудничестве с правительством Чили в Консепсьоне в марте 2004 года при содействии Международного центра генной инженерии и биотехнологии, с тем чтобы обеспечить всестороннее использование биотехнологии для достижения целей в области развития, сформулированных в Декларации тысячелетия.
