Here I studied the factors and processes that have promoted avian diversification in the Neotropics through the analysis of three species of Passeriformes that inhabit of these species have disjunct distributions that include allopatric populations in the Atlantic Forest and the Yungas-Amazonia complex, and at the same time represent some of the main passerine radiations in the Neotropics.

En esta tesis se estudiaron los patrones y procesos responsables de la diversificación de las aves neotropicales a través del análisis de tres especies de Passeriformes de ambientes selváticos sudamericanos: Habia rubica (Cardinalidae), Ramphotrigon poblaciones alopátricas en la Selva Atlántica y el complejo Yungas-Amazonas, y a su vez representan algunas de las principales radiaciones de Passeriformes del Neotrópico.
