Y por tomar diezmos, en el tiempo antiguo Leví debía recibir los diezmos, y los forasteros, los huérfanos y las viudas debían ir y comer, y saciarse dentro de sus ciudades; pero esto era de acuerdo a la ley; y aquí ustedes ven que los sacerdotes del mundo no actúan de acuerdo a la ley, en la cual eran tipos y figuras de Cristo; y cuando Cristo vino, aquellos que él envió no debían llevar bolsa, ni un bastón para defenderse, ni dos abrigos, ni bronce, ni plata; sino que de gracia habéis recibido, dad de gracia: el obrero es digno de su salario; por lo tanto ellos ni caminan de acuerdo a la ley, ni al evangelio, por lo tanto los negamos; y los ministros de Jesucristo, que fueron hacia el mundo, no tenían una porción del mundo, sino azotes, cepo, encarcelamiento (2 Cor 11:23-25, también: Hechos 4:3, Hechos 5:40, Hechos 7:58).
