Los censos de la población de la Cotorra Montañera (Hapalopsittaca amazonina) se realizaron durante los meses de marzo, abril y mayo donde encontramos la ocupación de 3 nidos artificiales en la Reserva Natural de las Aves Colibrí del Sol, dos de los nidos están ubicados en un antiguo potrero que hoy se encuentra en regeneración natural y el tercero entre el bosque muy cerca a los otros dos, según el monitoreo, cada nido fue ocupado por 3 polluelos.
