Da die Entwicklungszeit einer Daonellen-Art etwa jener der Ammonoideen-Arten entsprechen dürfte, wird mit einer langen Ablagerungszeit der Grenzbitumenzone gerechnet, wobei die Dolomite vermutlich schneller als die Bitumina entstanden.

As the rate of evolution of a species ofDaonella possibly corresponds to that of Ammonite species, it is presumed that the sedimentation of the «Grenzbitumenzone» was slow. Within this «zone» the dolomite limestone was probably deposited more rapidly than the «Bitumina».
