In collaboration with the Department of Political Affairs and the Office of the Special Adviser to the Secretary-General on Gender Issues and Advancement of Women, the Department of Economic and Social Affairs also convened an expert group meeting on peace agreements as a means for promoting gender equality in preparation for the forty-eighth session of the Commission on the Status of Women.
