ومن الآثار الأخرى أن محامي الدفاع لا يُخطرون بجلسات الاستماع في الوقت المناسب أو في أي وقت كان، وكثيراً ما يتعرضون للانتقاد والتخويف من قبل القضاة ووكلاء النيابة والشرطة بسبب الدفاع عن موكليهم رغم ما يتضمنه قانون الإجراءات الجنائية المؤقت من أحكام ذات صلة وتصديق أفغانستان على العهد الدولي الخاص بالحقوق المدنية والسياسية.

Another effect is that, despite relevant provisions in the Afghan Interim Criminal Procedure Code and ratification of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), defence lawyers are given inadequate or no notice of hearings, and are often criticized or intimidated by judges, prosecutors and police for defending their clients.
