حيث كان العضو السابق في "حزب الله" الشيخ حسن مشيمش يسافر بالسيارة مع زوجته ووالدته إلى المملكة العربية السعودية عندما قبض عليه "الأمن السياسي" السوري على الجانب السوري من نقطة جديدة يابوس الحدودية مع لبنان في 7 يوليو/تموز. ولم تعلن السلطات السورية على الملأ أي سبب للقبض عليه، أو تكشف عن مكان احتجازه أو عما إذا كانت قد وجهت إليه أي تهم.

Amnesty International has urged the Syrian authorities to release or charge a Lebanese Shi'a cleric held incommunicado for more than three months after he was arrested while on his way to make the pilgrimage to Mecca.Former Hizbullah member Sheikh Hassan Mchaymech was travelling by car to Saudi Arabia with his wife and mother, when he was arrested by Syrian Political Security on the Syrian side of the Jdeidet Yabous border crossing with Lebanon on 7 July.The Syrian authorities have not publicly given a reason for his arrest or revealed where he is being held or whether any charges have been brought against him.

Amnistía Internacional ha instado a las autoridades sirias a que pongan en libertad o presenten cargos contra un clérigo chií libanés que se encuentra recluido en régimen de incomunicación desde hace más de tres meses, después de que fuera detenido cuando peregrinaba a La Meca.Sheikh Hassan Mchymech, ex miembro de Hezbolá, viajaba en automóvil a Arabia Saudí con su mujer y su madre cuando fue detenido el 7 de julio por los servicios de Seguridad Política sirios en el lado sirio del puesto fronterizo de Jdeidet Yabous entre Siria y Líbano.Las autoridades sirias no han desvelado el motivo de su detención, ni dónde se encuentra retenido, ni si se han presentado cargos contra él.
