The variance is attributable primarily to the acquisition of a higher quantity of equipment than planned in order to support the upkeep of the information technology infrastructure, such as a track and trace inventory system in support of the supply chain management system and a closed-circuit television system for the Entebbe Support Base owing to the increased threat level; and to the related maintenance costs and acquisition of spare parts for the equipment.
