That is the conclusion reached in the project carried out at the end of the period 2001-2002 by the Tahlil Centre with support from Save the Children UK, which involved a high‐calibre sociological study carried out through in-depth interviews in Namangan, Fergana and Djizak oblasts, the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the city of Tashkent (see annex 3).
